Because they can sustain relatively large loads with small deflections, Belleville Spring Washers are especially suited for high loads in small places. Numerous load-carrying possibilities can be obtained by stacking the springs in various sequences.

Stainless steels are used for their corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, scaling resistance, and low-temperature toughness.  These properties account for their extremely wide use in practically every industry. Austenitic Stainless Steels are alloys of iron and carbon that contain between 16% and 30% Chromium, a maximum of 0.15% carbon, along with Nickel (or Manganese), and other alloying elements.  The chromium, which helps develop a passive surface oxide film, provides corrosion resistance in stainless steels.   Austenitic Stainless Steels are designated by a 3 digit SAE Stainless Steel Grade beginning with the number 3 (e.g. 304, 316).  Another common naming convention for Austenitic Stainless Steels are 18/8, 18/10, 18/0, etc. where the 18 refers to the % of Chromium and 8 to the % of Nickel contained in the material.

A standard general purpose flat washer manufactured in both 18-8 and Type 316 Stainless Steels, entirely in the USA of DFARS compoant steels. Available from stock in bolt sizes #4 all the way up to 1-1/2". Manufactured from standard gage thicknesses, these washers are good for general industrial, MRO, and anywhere extra strength is not needed.

Made in the USA. These flat washers are produced in the USA for excellent quality conformance. One of the significant differences between less expensive imported products and ours are the way we stamp. Many cheap imports are produced on gang dies that produce 10 or more washers per stroke of the press. Using such a large die means that the individual washer sets are not adjustable - when the punch wears, the dimensions change and there is no way to fix this as the press produces washers, leading to a large variation in the finished part.

Materials available in many other countries are not as consistent as the domestic steels we use, which gives the imports a cheaper cost, but can lead to failures and inconsistencies when the products are used. The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) was created to address this problem. Our materials are DFARS compliant although we do not supply the certification except on special order.

Bunting Bearings offers a complete line of stock plain bearings, flange bearings and washers made of P/M bronze. Bunting sintered bronze stock bearings have long conformed to ASTM chemical and physical properties, and are the first to include all ASTM standard sizes to ASTM recommended dimensions and tolerances. After forming, sintering and sizing, the bearings are vacuum impregnated with SAE 30 oil that provides lubricant which is metered from the bearing to the shaft during rotation.
